Trach Mommas of Louisiana was created by Jessica Michot and Angéla Lorio, who each have sons with trachs. We are a non-profit organization with 501c3 status.
Trach Mommas of Louisiana or TMOL was founded to fill the severe gap that existed in the realm of mothers of children with medical complexities/technology needs. Mothers craved peer support that was previously non-existent. The goal is that no other “momma” will have to walk this path alone.
To accomplish our mission and goals, we seek to provide peer support of all parents who have a child with a tracheostomy and/or individuals who have a tracheostomy. To share information, resources, and tips/tricks of trach life. Trach Mommas of Louisiana provides a community of parents who understand what it means to be a parent of a child with a trach or an adult with a trach. We also provide advocacy on both state and national levels.
We are not led by professionals but peers, just like you. *This does not take the place of professional medical advice.
Trach Mommas of Louisiana is a member of Louisiana’s Emergency Management Disability Aging Coalition (EMDAC) and the national Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies (PIDS).
